Fishy Stories Writing Challenge 2022

Suzanne Barton & Lou Endicott.

Suzanne Barton is an author and editor whose children’s books include Meeka, My Dad’s Weird Beard and My Unicorn Farts Glitter. With a masters in scriptwriting, a soft spot for musical theatre and a strong silly streak, Suzanne has produced all sorts of quirky works for the page, stage and screen. Favourite moments include performing cabaret shows inspired by 1940s radio drama, co-writing a video game script for people with vision impairment, and seeing her unicorn book translated into French and Spanish. Suzanne is currently working on two chapter books for the education market. When she’s not writing, Suzanne supports emerging storytellers with insightful editing, works as a communications specialist and attempts to tap dance.

Lou Endicott is a Melbourne based illustrator working from her home studio in Ivanhoe. Originally Lou trained as an actor before studying drama education and visual arts. What followed has been a journey of over twenty five years working with kids as a teacher and facilitator in performing arts and communication. In 2013, Lou followed her emerging passion to study illustration and design.  Since then, Lou has worked with many different clients and businesses as an illustrator. This year Lou has illustrated a children’s picture book (soon to be released) written by eleven adults with mild intellectual disabilities and professional writers called “Naughty Little Mouse”.  Lou also specializes in illustrated walking & cycle maps and also in hand drawn window art. Last year Lou wrote and presented “Banyule Walk & Talk” – an online web series encouraging people to get out into nature. Lou continues to moonlight as a children’s drama and public speaking coach.
