Jane Godwin

Jane and Anna will be reading some of our books and chatting about the ideas behind them and the art techniques used. Then we will make and decorate a cardboard fish and/or other sea creature on its own cut-out stand, or to hang as a mobile.

About Jane:

Jane is the highly acclaimed author of over forty books for children and young people, across all styles and ages. Her work is published internationally and she has received many commendations, including the 2024 Pixie O’Harris Award for services to children’s literature. 

Jane's novels for 11 – 14 year olds include A Walk in the Dark and Look Me in the Eye, and recently acclaimed picture books include A Life Song, illustrated by Anna Walker and winner of the 2024 ABIA Award, Picture Book category, and Can You Teach a Fish to Climb a Tree?, illustrated by Terry Denton and shortlisted for the 2024 CBCA Book of the Year Award – Early Childhood. 

Jane and Anna Walker have created nine picture books together, and hope to get to ten!
