About Andrea
Andrea Rowe is a best-selling, awarded-winning children’s author. Her debut picture book Jetty Jumping (Hardie Grant) won the 2022 Children’s Book Council of Australia, Picture Book of the Year for Early childhood and Shortlisted for the 2023 Australian Speech Pathology Book of the Year.
The much-anticipated follow-up Sunday Skating has been released in Australia, and internationally this year, and she’s team up again with illustrator Hannah Somerville for a Little Worlds eco-exploring board book series. In the Rockpools is the first in the series to be released soon. And, there’s more exiting books on the way next year for the dynamic duo.
A skilled storyteller, Andrea features in Teacher, Teacher, an anthology with Affirm Press. And is the winner of the 2020 Hal Porter Short Story Award, and Highly Commended for the Mulga Bill Writing Award 2023, and the 2022 Newcastle Short Story Award.
She’s a copywriter for Australian not-for-profit organisations, the Founding President of Peninsula Writers’ Club, initiated the Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor’s Short Story Writing Award, and is a passionate advocate for contemporary Australian literature. She writes from Bunurong Country from her writing room nestled in the sand dunes.
